When You say nothing at all

Our Song :)

It's amazing
How you can speak
Right to my heart
Without saying a word,
You can light up the dark
Try as I may
I could never explain
What I hear when
You don't say a thing

[CHORUS:]
The smile on your face
Lets me know
That you need me
There's a truth
In your eyes
Saying you'll never leave me
The touch of your hand says
You'll catch me
Whenever I fall
You say it best
When you say
Nothing at all

All day long
I can hear people
Talking out loud
But when you hold me near
You drown out the crowd
(The crowd)
Try as they may
They could never define
What's been said
Between your
Heart and mine

[Repeat chorus twice]

(You say it best
When you say
Nothing at all
You say it best
When you say
Nothing at all)

The smile on your face
The truth in your eyes
The touch of your hand
Let's me know
That you need me

[Repeat chorus]

(You say it best
When you say
Nothing at all
You say it best
When you say
Nothing at all)

The smile on your face
The truth in your eyes
The touch of your hand
Let's me know
That you need me

(You say it best
When you say
Nothing at all
You say it best
When you say
Nothing at all)

Tea tea tea. sri lankans love our TEA

came across this meme on Facebook. Wanted to blog about Tea :) We are so picky about our tea, and believe that each cup of tea has its own taste, making it unique... Yep, tea is not trivial in Sri Lanka, we treat it very seriously... Something didn't stop me there, spent a few mins on Google for fact finding...

then came across professional tea preparation instructions on wiki (yep, this is so nerdy)

TypeWater Temp.Steep TimeInfusions
White Tea65 to 70 °C (149 to 158 °F)1–2 minutes3

Pu'er Tea95 to 100 °C (203 to 212 °F)LimitlessSeveral

but wait, there is trivia for trivia fans...

Did you know?

I am in China now so, "If you find yourself gasping for a good cup of tea in China, just ask for: ?"

Did you know?
Two Chinese pronunciations for ‘tea’ have found their way into other languages. ‘T’ comes from the Hokkien Chinese dialect, while the Cantonese ‘ch' has morphed into ‘char’ in English.

Did you know?

In North and West Africa, you often see tea being poured high above the cup. This can be to oxidise the tea and refine its flavour. Or for that matter to cool the tea down so they can drink it right away.

Did you know?

In Mali ‘gunpowder tea’ is served in three stages. The first, invitingly called ‘bitter as death’, is strong and unsweetened and made from fresh leaves. Then comes ‘pleasant as life’ when the same leaves re-boiled with some sugar. Then the leaves are boiled yet again with more sugar to serve up the final ‘sweet as love’ stage.

Did you know?

Tea is good for your teeth. It’s a natural source of fluoride that can help protect against tooth decay and gum disease.

Did you know?

In Southeast Asia, particularly Malaysia, they enjoy ‘teh tarik’ tea. They add condensed milk to black tea, pour it from high above, and create a milky frothy head.

Did you know?

There are approximately 1,500 different varieties of tea.

Did you know?

98% of people take their tea with milk, but only 30% add sugar.

Zorro Kills Thief in Lecture Prank (with Mariachi Band) @ University of Michigan

They should totally do this at HKUST :D

Video Description:

A lecture prank involving a choreographed fencing fight scene, mariachi band and lots of mustaches. Btw, we didn't give the professor any kind of warning this was going down.

We pulled this off in an Organic Chemistry 2 lecture, at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. There were some 18 people involved between the front and back of house personnel. Very complex, very theatrical, very good, and very funny.

Be sure to check out the "Zorro Lecture Prank (Behind the Scenes)" video for some insider footage!

This is the original copy... I am the copyright holder. Notice the upload date.

Note: we are not affiliated with the UM Patriots, nor any other formal prank group. We operate independent from said groups, and are not a group of our own, merely a rag-tag group of friends. The why = just for the heck of it.

Enjoy.

More than 600,000 Macs infected with Flashback botnet

Russian antivirus company says half the computers infected with malware designed to steal personal information are in the U.S. — with 274 located in Cupertino. – By , CNET NEWS
More than half a million Macs are infected with the Flashback Trojan, a malware package designed to steal personal information, according to a Russian antivirus company.
The company — Dr. Web – originally reported today that 550,000 Macintosh computers were infected by the growing Mac botnet. But later in the day, Dr. Web malware analyst Sorokin Ivanannounced on Twitter that the number of Macs infected with Flashback had increased to 600,000, with 274 of those based in Cupertino, Calif.
More than half of the Macs infected are in the United States (57 percent), while another 20 percent are in Canada, Dr. Web said.
The malware was initially found in September 2011 masquerading as a fake Adobe Flash Player plug-in installer, but in the past few months it has evolved to exploiting Java vulnerabilities to target Mac systems. A new variant that surfaced over the weekend appears to be taking advantage of Java vulnerability for which Apple released a patch yesterday.
As CNET blogger Topher Kessler explains, simply visiting a malicious Web site containing Flashback on an OS X system with Java installed will result in one of two installation routes. The malware will request an administrator password, and if one is supplied, it will install its package of code into the Applications folder. If a password is not offered, the malware will install to the user accounts where it can run in a more global manner.
Once installed, the Flashback will inject code into Web browsers and other applications like Skype to harvest passwords and other information from those program’s users.
Security company F-Secure has published instructions on how to determine whether a Mac is infected with Flashback.

Self-Driving Car Test: Steve Mahan - By Google

New Video by Google - really worth watching!

"We announced our self-driving car project in 2010 to make driving safer, more enjoyable, and more efficient. Having safely completed over 200,000 miles of computer-led driving, we wanted to share one of our favorite moments. Here's Steve, who joined us for a special drive on a carefully programmed route to experience being behind the wheel in a whole new way. We organized this test as a technical experiment, but we think it's also a promising look at what autonomous technology may one day deliver if rigorous technology and safety standards can be met."

TED TALK: Salman Khan: Let's use video to reinvent education

Salman Khan talks about how and why he created the remarkable Khan Academy, a carefully structured series of educational videos offering complete curricula in math and, now, other subjects. He shows the power of interactive exercises, and calls for teachers to consider flipping the traditional classroom script -- give students video lectures to watch at home, and do "homework" in the classroom with the teacher available to help.

In 2004, Salman Khan, a hedge fund analyst, began posting math tutorials on YouTube. Six years later, he has posted more than 2.000 tutorials, which are viewed nearly 100,000 times around the world each day.

Why you should listen to him:

Salman Khan is the founder and faculty of the Khan Academy (www.khanacademy.org)-- a not-for-profit organization with the mission of providing a free world-class education to anyone, anywhere. It now consists of self-paced software and, with over 1 million unique students per month, the most-used educational video repository on the Internet (over 30 million lessons delivered to-date). All 2000+ video tutorials, covering everything from basic addition to advanced calculus, physics, chemistry and biology, have been made by Salman.

Prior to the Khan Academy, Salman was a senior analyst at a hedge fund and had also worked in technology and venture capital. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, an M.Eng and B.S. in electrical engineering and computer science from MIT, and a B.S. in mathematics from MIT.

flying quadrotors - small, agile ROBOTS that swarm and sense each others

This is one of the recent TED talks that really moved me. Quad-copters are not a that new in the robotics industry but these little flying things are just too amazing! They can not only team up and think of where to go or what to lift but also can fly through a flying hoop! thats right, a hoop thats just thrown in the air, this little robot flies right through it...

These robots were developed by Prof. Vijay Kumar and his team at uPenn and its certainly a video worth watching.

Attached below is the TED video, please give it some time to load, I have embedded it into the post...

[Agile aerial] robots like this have many applications. You can send them inside buildings as first responders to look for intruders, maybe look for biochemical leaks … [or they] can be used for transporting cargo.” (Vijay Kumar)
